Two Friday Paphos flights cancelled by Gatwick disruption – rescue flight scheduled

Relevant News

Two EasyJet flights that were meant to fly to and from Paphos on Friday were cancelled due to drone-caused disruption at Gatwick airport.

Specifically, flight U28453 that was meant to depart at 07:15 (UK time) from Gatwick and arrive at 13:35 (Cyprus time) in Paphos has been cancelled, as well as flight U28454 that was meant to depart at 14:20 (Cyprus time) from Paphos.

The airline has arranged a rescue flight for the passengers from London Stansted to Paphos, which is scheduled to arrive at 16:35. They will then fly back to Stansted.

For the time being, there is no update concerning the evening flight from Gatwick to Larnaca and back.

Britain’s Gatwick Airport reopened on Friday after a rogue drone saboteur wrought travel chaos for hundreds of thousands of Christmas travelers, however more delays and cancellations are expected.

Gatwick strongly recommends to passengers to check the status of their flight before they travel to the airport.

About 120,000 people have been affected since Wednesday when the runway closed.
