Relevant News

The Transport Ministry and the Kios Research and Innovation Center of Excellence announced on Tuesday the launch of FixCyprus, a platform, and a mobile phone app, aiming to improve the infrastructure of the road network and increase road safety.

The application enables citizens to report problems in Cyprus’s road network and other dangers in similar infrastructures, like traffic lights or pavements that affect the quality and security of the network.

The reports will be accompanied by photos, exact information about the location of the issue, and relevant comments. Each report will automatically be submitted to the corresponding district office of the Public Works Department, which will evaluate the problem and proceed with the proper action.

Responsible authorities such as state services, the Electricity Authority, the Water Board and local administrations, as well as telecommunication providers, who will be tasked to resolve the issues have received information regarding the platform and their staff has been trained to respond to problems.

The use of the app by the citizens is expected to contribute to the quicker solution of problems on the road network.

Transport Minister Giannis Karousos appealed to the public to use the FixCyprus app and contribute to the upgrading of the country’s infrastructure.

The FixCyprus application is available on Android and iOS devices.
