On the even of the discussion at the House Environmental Committee of the issue of the asphalt factories that pollute the atmosphere in the area of Tseri, the Environmental Authority issued a verdict supporting the transfer of one of the factories from Tseri to Mitsero, setting, however, a series of terms and preconditions. This is one of the most highly-toxic asphalt production plants that is near houses and schools of the Saint Kostantinos and Eleni community in the Municipalities of Tseri and Dali.
However, the Municipal Councils of Mitsero, Kato Moni, Orounta, Menoiko, Agios Ioannis, Agrokipia, Arediou and Malounta expressed a strongly negative position against the operation of the plant in their area believing that it will burden the already polluted atmosphere in the region
