TEPAK Professor released from jail wants to return to teaching

Relevant News

A professor of the Cyprus Technical Institute TEPAK who was imprisoned for three years and has been recently released, is seeking his return to teaching, something that places the relevant bodies of the University in a difficult position.

The said professor was not found guilty of disciplinary offences so he wants to return to his duties and a relevant decision is expected to be made in the coming days.

The man had been found guilty of money laundering offences when he was found guilty in 67 accusations regarding seven EU-funded programs.

The Dean of TEPAK said that the professor has been informed that there are old decisions of the University that do not permit his return but the final decision will be made by the relevant bodies of the University.

Even if the University bodies decide that the professor must not return to his duties, he has the ability to find recourse to Justice since there are no disciplinary offences against him.
