Some cloud today, unsettled weather over the next few days

Today will see increased cloud while unsettled weather is forecast for the next few days with showers and even the possibility of snow or sleet in the higher Troodos peaks on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In its early morning weather forecast, the Met Office said weak high pressure is affecting the area, while low pressure is expected from Monday.

There will be increased, mainly high cloud on Sunday and initially there will be light dust in the atmosphere which will soon clear. Temperatures will rise to 23 C inland, around 21 C on the coasts and 13 C in the mountains.

Tonight there will be intervals of low cloud while locally there will be fog. Temperatures will fall to 8 C inland, around 10 C on the coast and 5 C in the mountains.

Monday will be mainly fine but there will be increased local cloud after midday. Late at night scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast.

Temperatures will remain at the same levels at a little above average for the time of year.

Tuesday will be mainly cloudy with local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Locally in the higher Troodos peaks there is a forecast of snow or sleet. The weather will improve in the evening. There will be a noticeable drop in temperature to close to the seasonal average.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy and there may be isolated showers, mainly in the mountains, as well as snow or sleet in the higher Troodos peaks. Temperatures will remain at the same levels.
