An employee at a Paphos shop was booked for not wearing a mask in violation of decrees to contain the spread of coronavirus after police carried out 544 checks of premises from 6 pm on Thursday to 6 am on Friday.
Overall, police carried out 182 checks of premises in Nicosia, six in Limassol, 128 in Larnaca, 102 in Paphos, 55 in Famagusta and 71 in Morphou.
In addition police carried out 2874 checks on vehicles and pedestrians regarding the decree restricting movement and booked 77 as follows:
Nicosia: 680 checks, 30 booked
Limassol: 680 checks, 28 booked
Larnaca: 313 checks, 2 booked
Paphos: 420 checks, 4 booked
Famagusta: 397 checks, 10 booked
Morphou: 164 checks, none booked
