Within the framework of the ARTION European Program, the Paphos Civil Defense successfully carried out on Sunday 22/5/2022 a search and rescue for missing persons exercise in the community of Mandria of Paphos District.
The purpose of the exercise was to evaluate the online platform and application prepared by the Kios Research and Innovation Center of the University of Cyprus for civil defense. With the specific platform and with the help of the application that had been installed on the mobile phones of the correspondents, the coordination center had two-way communication during the exercise with the correspondents, was monitoring their position on an electronic map and was receiving photos and videos from them.
Some 30 members of the Search and Rescue Department participated in the exercise, as well as members of the Communications Department and representatives of the Kios Center.
