A Protaras shopkeeper is in intensive care at Nicosia Hospital after he fell from a height of about three metres.
Police said that the man fell as he was carrying out repairs on the roof. The accident occurred at around 3 pm on Thursday.
He was taken by ambulance to Famagusta General Hospital where because of the seriousness of his condition he was transferred to the intensive care unit of Nicosia Hospital.
He suffered a fractured skull and spine, and his condition is described as serious.
