During the period 4 until 10 May 2022, the Police will carry out intensive checks, on a 24-hour basis and in the whole road network, aiming to find drivers driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Particular emphasis will be placed on post-midnight hours on Friday and Saturday when this phenomenon is more frequent.
During the same period, increased checks to find drivers driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will also be carried out in European countries, within the framework of a campaign under the auspices of ROADPOL.
At the same time, policemen will also check for other violations with emphasis on the ones that constitute the main causes of accidents, like speeding, use of mobile phone during driving and not using seat belts.
