Paphos launches charm offensive in Malta, Lebanon

Relevant News

Paphos’ regional board of tourism is launching charm offensive in Malta and Lebanon as it seeks to capitalise on direct flights to the two countries as from October.

In an announcement, the board said that it has already contacted the state tourism organisations of the two countries as well as with tour operators to promote tourism to Paphos.

It said that the district had a relatively low profile in both Lebanon and Malta because of the absence of direct flights which was why a concerted campaign was needed.

Plans include hosting journalists and tour operators, participating in tourism fairs there, organising workshops and presentations and campaigns on social media.

The aim is to make Paphos known as a tourist destination it said and urged its members, municipal authorities, hoteliers and others to embrace the two markets and to contribute to these efforts so as to combat seasonality and develop sectors such as short stay tourism and wedding tourism.

Ryanair last month announced that it would be offering flights from Paphos to Malta and Lebanon among a number of new routes.
