Paphos traffic police booked 20 drivers on Monday within the framework of its campaign to prevent road accidents.
According to the relevant police announcement, between 7 am and 6 pm on Monday, members of Paphos police conducted traffic checks at various locations within Paphos city as well as the secondary road network.
The checks resulted in eight drivers booked for speeding, one for not wearing a seatbelt, one for using a mobile phone while driving, two for driving without an MOT certificate, one for tinted windows, one for suspended registration, one for expired driving licence and two for violation of traffic signs.
Police said that traffic checks will be stepped up in the coming days.
