No children’s vaccination in pediatricians offices for practical reasons

Relevant News

Pediatricians won’t carry out children’s vaccinations against Covid-19 in their offices mainly for practical reasons, according to the Cyprus Pediatric Society’s head Michalis Anastasiades.

He also told state radio on Thursday that these concern jab sensitivities plus the fact that children to get vaccinated should come in no contact with sick ones waiting to be examined in doctors’ offices.

The specialist added that there is enough interest from parents of children aged 5-11 but also concerns over the possible voluntary vaccination which officially begins on Friday.

So far, he added, some five million children worldwide got the first Covid-19 vaccine with no problems been detected.

As for reports of cases of myocarditis, that is inflammation of the heart muscle, in teens who got vaccinated, the doctor said these are rare cases.

And in almost all cases it was mild and resolved quickly, he added before stressing that myocarditis is a much more common complication of having Covid-19 than from getting vaccinated.
