Turmoil at Archbishop Makarios High School in Platy, Agladjia, continued on Wednesday after a small group of delinquent students who were recently expelled for good went back to class “as normal”.
On Tuesday, a number of parents rushed to the Nicosia suburb’s school and took their children away following this development.
The small of number of students was expelled after a serious misconduct and their return reportedly took place after the intervention of the Education Ministry, according to Philenews.
However, parents are up in arms over this and have pointed out a serious violation of rules and procedures since the Ministry cannot ignore decisions taken by the Teachers’ Association.
The Association is the highest body for such decisions, the parents argued. And they called on the parents of the expelled to appeal to a secondary body if they disagree with any decision taken by the Association.
