Wednesday will be mainly fine with a yellow alert for extremely high temperatures issued between 1pm and 4pm.
Temperatures will rise to 40 C inland, 30 C in the mountains, 32 C in the west coast and about 34 C in all other coastal areas.
Winds will be variable, moderate to fresh winds, force 3 to 4 Beaufort over smooth to slight sea waters.
The fire hazard is high in all forest areas.
