Limassol police have charged the owner of a beauty centre and two of her clients for breaking the lockdown decree.

Hairdressers salons and beauty centres are closed under decrees aiming to contain the spread of coronavirus. Under the government’s lockdown exit road map, they are due to open on May 21.

Police said that after obtaining a search warrant, they had entered the premises on Saturday afternoon accompanied by the community leader and found the woman with two women clients who were having their nails manicured.

All three were charged in writing and the case will go to court once the case file is ready.

Police also reported three supermarkets in Nicosia. In the first case, an employee was not wearing a mask, in the second a client who did not belong to the vulnerable group was being offered service in hours reserved for the vulnerable and in the third customers waiting to pay were not respecting the required distance between them.

Two supermarkets were reported in Limassol because employees were not wearing masks and gloves.

Moreover, from 6 am to 6 pm on Saturday police carried out 9398 checks on pedestrians and vehicles and booked 77 for breaking the decree restricting movement.
