Little Antonis, who has warmed hearts with his courage in battling a rare degenerative disease, has brought a smile to Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou by surprising him with a gift of a drawing he made himself.
In a message on Twitter, Ioannou wrote: “Today I received the most beautiful gift!! A picture by little Antonis 4 months!! after gene treatment.”

Antonis, who celebrated his second birthday while undergoing revolutionary treatment in Boston last October, suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1.
He travelled to Boston with his parents for treatment after the state undertook the cost of the treatment, becoming the first patient from Cyprus to receive ZOLGENSMA – the only medication existing for this disease.
