A 69 year old man was arrested, charged and released after an injured dog was found in a dumpster in Limassol.
The dog was found by police on Saturday afternoon after being alerted by the public and taken to a vet by its owner but succumbed to its injuries on Monday morning.
After securing testimony, police arrested the 69 year old. He had reportedly said he found the dog injured and threw it in the dumpster.
He was charged with breaking animal welfare laws and released.
The exact cause of death will be established after examination by vet services officials.
