The Single Parents Pancypriot Organization participated in a discussion with the House Human Rights Committee on the issue of legal assistance in cases of gender-based violence.
According to an announcement, the Organization pointed out that in recent years there has been a reduction in the approval of legal assistance applications to family cases, many of which are directly related to gender-based violence. As pointed out, this constitutes violation of the right to have access to justice.
Furthermore, regarding the victims of gender-based violence, the Organization pointed out the complete lack of legal provision for legal assistance to these victims despite the clear provision of the Convention of Constantinople.
