Larnaca district court on Thursday sentenced a 28 year old man to jail for 30 days and stripped him of his driving licence for six months after he was found guilty for a series of traffic offences.
The defendant was stopped by police as he drove on Meneou Avenue in Kiti on March 18, 2018 — even though at the time he was not allowed to drive as the court had suspended his licence.
He was not covered by insurance and did not have road tax, was not wearing his seat belt and was using his mobile phone.
He also failed to comply with a police signal to stop.
His sentence starts today.
