Isolated showers on the last day of winter, storms and snowfalls tomorrow

A high pressure system continues to affect Cyprus, giving way to a low pressure outlook tomorrow.

Clear skies initially today (the last calendar day of winter), but overcast skies from noon onwards are expected to bring isolated showers.

Winds start out northeasterly to southeasterly and locally light northwesterly force three, later turning light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly, force three to four, over calm to slight seas, turning slight in the afternoon.

Temperatures will rise around 22 degrees Celsius inland, 20 on the southern and eastern coastal regions, 19 in the west and north and 14 over the mountains.

Partly overcast this evening with light northwesterly to northeasterly winds, force three, over calm to slight seas. Temperatures will drop to 8 degrees Celsius inland, 10 on southern and eastern coastal regions, 11 in the west and north and three over the mountains, where frost is expected to form.

Local showers and isolated storms are expected tomorrow, first day of Spring, mainly from noon onwards, with conditions gradually improving in the evening. Snowfalls are expected on the Troodos mountains.

A similar weather pattern continues through to Tuesday and Wednesday with local showers, isolated storms and snow on Troodos.

Temperatures will drop below the seasonal average.
