Limassol police on Tuesday evening arrested a 49-year-old woman who was driving under the influence of alcohol and on the wrong side of the highway.
The breathalyser’s final reading was 74mg per cent instead of 22mg per cent which is the legal limit, police also said on Wednesday.
The woman allegedly also attacked the police officer who tried to stop her, according to Philenews.
The incident took place around 22:30 hours after a police officer who had completed his shift and was driving back home came across her on the highway, by the Polemidia flyover.
The policeman avoided the collision, and the driver stopped the car, left it there, and started running on the highway. She was arrested after she allegedly also attacked the police officer who tried to stop her.
