A 13-year-old student was physically abused in a high school yard in Limassol as peers watching the bullying incident kept laughing and videotaping the attack.
Even the one student who intervened to stop the attack verbally abused the victim, according to the video released on Wednesday on social media.
The parents of the abused student have reported to Police the shocking bullying incident which took place a couple of days ago, Philenews reports.
Insiders said the students who exercised the school bullying are also 13 year olds, thus minors, and the law provides that they carry no criminal responsibility.
However, Police have informed the Social Welfare Services so that they proceed with the necessary action aiming to protect school bullying victims.
They assured that minors will be put under the supervision of the Services but also school authorities and organised parents have been asked to take measures to eliminate the bleak bullying phenomenon.
It should be noted that a similar incident involving bullying of students was recorded in the same school in the past.
