Police fined 12 individuals and 3 establishment owners or managers in the last 24 hours, until Thursday morning on March 17, after 1,609 checks for violations of measures against the spread of COVID-19.
A Police spokesperson told CNA that 477 checks were carried out in Nicosia, where 3 establishment owners and 6 individuals were fined. In Larnaca, 323 checks were carried out, where 4 individuals were booked. No fines were issued following 143 checks in Limassol, 93 checks in Pafos, 277 checks in Famagusta and 131 checks in Morphou.
At the same time, the Traffic Department carried out 159 checks and the Port and Marine Police carried out another 6, without finding any violations of measures in place.
