The Electricity Authority on Friday warned consumers against fraudsters attempting to sell devices they claim will reduce electricity consumption.
It said that it had been alerted by consumers who said they had been contacted to buy the €50 device.
“The Electricity Authority of Cyprus would like to clarify that it has no connection to these individuals and urges its clients to be particularly careful,” it said.
The authority said that there are no devices that reduce electricity consumption.
Information and advice on energy saving is available on the EAC’s website and in leaflets available at its customer service centres, it added.
