An apartment at a two storey complex in Dheryneia was destroyed by a blaze this morning, with a small dog that was on its own inside, saved by the fire service.
According to fire service police spokesperson Andreas Kettis, crews responded with two vehicles from the Famagusta station, with police also assisting.
The owner was away at the time the fire broke out.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
