Cyprus urges EU members to take joint action on air transport

Relevant News

Cyprus’ Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works has sent a non paper for joint measures from all EU member states to be taken in a bid to address the coronavirus repercussions on air transport.

The non paper was sent as part of the Integrated Political Crisis Response (IPCR) and in view of the upcoming meeting of the EU Transport Ministers’ Council.

The Ministry noted that there is no uniform policy among member states regarding their epidemiological criteria for passengers. And that this makes things more complicated for travellers, airlines and the air transport industry in general.

To address this, the Ministry proposes the implementation of uniform epidemiological criteria, an EU Flight Pass based on the model of the CyprusFlightPass, and quick testing at airports before flights.
