According to reliable information of Insider, the refusal of LGS Handling and Swissport, the ground handling passenger service companies at the Cypriot airports, to implement the collective agreement with their personnel by not paying them 13 month salary led trade unions PEO and SEK to the decision to proceed with measures.
Specifically the trade unions asked the companies’ personne,l at a first stage, to abstain from their duties from 16:00 this afternoon until 18:00.
According to the trade unions, this decision was made because the employers did not respect the advice of the Labor Minister.
Negotiations are currently taking place aiming to prevent the strike.
