Coronavirus: Measures for Citizen Centres, Water Boards suspend in-person service

Measures were announced on Monday for the operation of Citizen Centres listing which services will be offered during the government measures preventing the spread of Coronavirus.

Citizens will be able to receive services for the following:

-Renewal of driving licences with expiry date until the end of April (student permits excepted)

-Immobilisation of motor vehicles

-Issuing of ID

-Issuing of passports, ONLY upon submission of travel tickets

-Issuing of birth certificates for newborns

-Pick-ups of issued documents (IDs, passports, driving licences, refugee IDs)

Applications for the below services should be placed in the special boxes placed at the entrance of each Citizens Centre:

-Applications for Social Insurance services (pensions, allowances etc)

-Applications for EEE (Minimum Guaranteed Income)

-Supporting documentation for EEE and child allowance

Citizens are called to NOT visit the Citizens Centres for the following:

-Renewal of medical cards; these will now be accepted up to a month beyond expiry.

-Apply for student grants; the Ministry of Education has extended the deadline for these to April 30.

As of March 17 Citizen Centres will be open to the public from 8 am to 14.30 pm.

WATER BOARDS OF NICOSIA, LIMASSOL AND LARNACA SUSPEND OPERATIONS

Meanwhile, the Water Boards of Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca suspended operations, effective immediately and until the expiry of preventive measures announced by the government, announcing that, like Cyta and EAC, they will not disconnect services due to unpaid bills.
