The faithful flocked to churches where since 4 pm this afternoon masses were being held for the feast of the Annunciation, philenews reports, open to anyone wishing to attend, against all instructions not to do so by government authorities in recent days and moments before a lockdown goes into force at 6 pm prohibiting among many things the congregation of the faithful in churches and mosques.
In fact, the initial start time of the masses was changed and was brought forward to 4 pm to beat the start of the lockdown.
