Coronavirus: 28 new deaths announced on Friday, overall fatalities rise to 1143

The Health Ministry on Friday announced 28 new coronavirus deaths – three between July 29 and August 4 and the remaining 25 reported belatedly – all across Cyprus.

The age of fatalities range between 54 and 92, while the overall number of Covid-19 deaths in Cyprus has now risen to 1143.

As for the total new infections between July 29 and August 4 these were 5,472 out of a total of 84,505 tests with the positivity rate standing at 6.3%.

Total reported positives now number 568,383.

At the same time, 71 coronavirus patients are currently being treated at state hospitals all across Cyprus, 10 in serious condition in intensive care units.

And another two who are no longer contagious are still intubated in an ICU.
