The Environmental Authority has given the go-ahead for construction works to protect parts of Coral Bay against erosion, Phileleftheros reports.
The permit was granted to the company Harbour Shore Estates and the concerned section falls within the administrative limits of Peyia Municipality.
The project’s scope is to secure the coastal slopes adjacent to land plots that are in danger of collapsing due to erosion with the use of natural boulders placed in a curve following the slopes’ natural shape.
The project falls within the beach’s protected zone and is expected to be completed in three months, and also entails the temporary construction of a dirt road to run through some of the affected plots to allow access to construction vehicles.
