Another 257 Aradippou residents yesterday gave samples as part of wider tests to determine the extent of contagion in the community which has recorded a disproportionately high number of coronavirus cases.
This means that a total of 780 have been tested with the final results expected tomorrow.
No more sample testing is scheduled with Mayor Evangelos Evangelides saying this will be discussed with the Health Ministry.
So far, tests have detected eight cases, bringing the total in the community to 45.
“The municipality and residents are very satisfied with the results of the targeted testing. It appears that the first cases were the peak of the coronavirus and the results of the other samples are expected to show a significant drop,” he said.
But he said there was no complacency and the decrees were being adhered to.
