Between 6 pm on Sunday and 6 am on Monday, police checked drivers and pedestrians as follows:
Nicosia: 1,392 checks, 19 booked
Limassol: 733 checks, 11 booked
Larnaca: 532 checks, 12 booked
Paphos: 683 checks, 6 booked
Famagusta: 176 checks, 8 booked
Morphou: 137 checks, none booked
Police HQ traffic unit: 518 checks, 18 booked
MMAD: 30 checks, none booked
During the same 12 hour period, police carried out checks on 856 premises – Nicosia 274, Limassol 113, Larnaca 118. Paphos 125. Famagusta 91 and Morphou 70. There were no violations.
