A 30 year old man was caught driving six times over the limit in Larnaca on the same night traffic police in Xylophagou arrested a 24 year old with 20 times the permitted alcohol.
Police said that the 30 year old underwent an alco test with a reading of 146mg%ml — which is six times the 22mg%ml legal limit.
And at 2.30 am on Wednesday, Limassol traffic police stopped a car driven by a 39 year old on a central street for checks during which he handed over a small quantity of cannabis. He underwent a narco test, with a positive reading.
In a fourth case, a man was caught driving at 180 km per hour on the Nicosia-Limassol highway, near the Kornos exit. The speed limit is 100 km per hour. The man was arrested and taken to the police station where he was charged in writing and will appear in court tomorrow.
