Police said they had arrested a 26 year old man who was caught driving at 205 km per hour on the Larnaca -Kophinou highway. The speed limit is 100 km per hour.
The man was taken to Kophinou police station where he was charged in writing and will appear in court at a later stage.
Meanwhile, Pissouri police on Sunday night booked a 58 year old man for attempting to drive while in a state of intoxication.
Police found the man trying to start a car on the old Paphos-Limassol road. Because he smelled strongly of alcohol, an alco-test was administered with an initial reading of 102Â mg which is nearly five times the legal limit of 22 mg. He was informed that he would be booked and taken home
