Around noon yesterday, information was received about a fire at a village of the district of Nicosia.
Members of the Klirou Police Station rushed to the scene together with four fire engines which put out the fire that burned three acres of wild vegetation.
During subsequent investigations, it was ascertained that the fire was caused by an equipment cutting iron that a 23-year-old man was using while working at a building under construction.
Further investigations pointed out that the said person was illegally in Cyprus and so, he was arrested, and will today be presented before the Nicosia District Court.
