More than 12,000 Cypriot citizens have applied for settled status in post-Brexit UK, CNA reports.
It said that according to the latest figures from the Foreign Office, since the programme was launched in August 2018 through to March 31, 2020 a total of 12,520 Cypriots who live in the UK and do not have British citizenship had applied for settled or pre-settled status.
Of these, 11,610 applications were submitted in England, 560 in Scotland, 230 in Wales and 30 in Northern Ireland.
In total, the British government has received more than 3.5 million applications from EU citizens and their family members who wish to remain in the UK.
Applications can be submitted up till June 30, 2021.
