The online group “Cultural & Environmental Heritage of Yeroskipou & Eastern Paphos” organised a sit-in protest last Sunday, expressing strong opposition to the decision of the Yeroskipou Municipal Council to construct a permanent stand in the amphitheatre area at Yeroskipou Square.
With a large placard displaying the slogan “Stop the experiments in Yeroskipou Square,” the online group voiced their disagreement.
Specifically, in a related protest resolution, the group’s coordinator, Neophytos Pavlou, expressed their strong opposition to the Yeroskipou Municipal Council’s decision to proceed with the construction of a permanent stand in the amphitheatre area of Yeroskipou Square.
As stated in the resolution, while the Square certainly needs rejuvenation, this improvement in its functionality should not be carried out based on decisions that are not supported by a comprehensive study.
It is also pointed out that there are only two months left before the elections.
The group calls on the Municipal Council to suspend its decision to allow the new Municipality to reconsider the matter.
