Volunteers have set up several cold-weather shelters for stray animals at Troodos.
The project is an initiative of the Movement of Ecologists – Citizens’ Cooperation which sent out a call for volunteers, pet houses and blankets.
The party’s animal welfare group coordinator of the group Anthi Mouzouri said: “Today, we travelled to Troodos and set up the shelters that were generously donated by members of our community, to provide a haven for the stray dogs in the Troodos region. I want to extend my warmest thanks and appreciation to these kind-hearted individuals for their contributions. I would also like to offer my profound thanks to the volunteers who assisted in transporting and setting up the shelters. I hope that this initiative will offer some warmth to these little souls in the snowy Troodos.”
The Cyprus green party is continuing its efforts for animal welfare across Cyprus. As such, it is calling on anyone who wishes to contribute shelters, blankets, and food to contact 22518787.
