The revelations surrounding the scandal at the Monastery of Saint Habakkuk continue.
Video footage from a closed circuit, published by the newspaper Politis, shows two monks placing “myrrh” on a cross.
The “myrrh,” was made by themselves, held in a flask, and from there they filled the cross with the aim to deceive the faithful.
The moment when archimandrite Nektarios is heard commanding the other monk to pour enough “myrrh” on the cross to “immerse” it has been widely reported.
This particular video is one of many submitted by bishop Isaiah to the Holy Synod and will be examined as evidence by the Ecclesiastical Court.
