Two more arrests in Paphos arson case

Two individuals, aged 26 and 23, were arrested by the Police in Paphos yesterday to assist with investigations regarding the arson case involving two cars in Chada, for which a 19-year-old resident of Paphos was arrested on 30th March.

The arson was committed late on the night of 28th March on two vehicles parked outside their owners’ residence, resulting in their complete destruction. Examinations conducted at the scene indicated that the fire was maliciously set using flammable material.

Further investigations obtained testimony against the 19-year-old, who was arrested for questioning on 30th March and placed under a four-day detention.

Upon the expiration of his detention order, the 19-year-old was released without charges, pending the results of forensic examinations.

During the course of the investigation into the case, testimony was obtained against two other individuals, aged 26 and 23. Arrest warrants were issued against them, under which they were arrested yesterday and placed under detention to assist with the investigations.
