Two cars set on fire in Paphos [PHOTOS]

Relevant News

Two cars were completely burnt yesterday evening in Paphos, from a fire that seems to have been deliberately set while they were parked on the main commercial Ellados avenue, especially during a time when there was a significant presence of citizens in the area’s recreational centers.

The fire broke out at 10 p.m. while there was still heavy traffic in the area, both from restaurant, café, and kiosk customers, as well as passing vehicles.

According to initial police reports, it appears that the fire started from Molotov cocktails thrown at one vehicle by hooded individuals who suddenly appeared on the scene and immediately fled on a motorcycle.

The fire spread to the second vehicle parked very close to the first, resulting in both suffering total destruction.

Police quickly arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area, while the Fire Department extinguished the fire before it could spread to adjacent properties. I

mmediately afterward, investigations and evidence collection began, with closed-circuit cameras owned by many businesses and services in the area already being examined.

Investigations are ongoing.
