Nissi Beach, the cosmopolitan beach in the Famagusta area, which is inundated every year by thousands of tourists as well as locals, is ranked among the top 25 beaches in the world for 2024, based on reviews written by travellers on the Tripadvisor platform.
The beach with its azure waters, which is an absolute must for the summer, has claimed the 22nd spot on Tripadvisor’s global list and the 7th spot on the list of best beaches in Europe.
The number one beach worth visiting is Praia da Falesia in Albufeira, Portugal, according to the travel website, which awarded it first place in the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2024 awards for beaches. In last year’s list, this beach was in 6th place.
The silver medal goes to Spiaggia dei Conigli in Italy, located on the island of Lampedusa in Sicily, while the third place is taken by La Concha Beach in San Sebastian, Spain.
Kaanapali Beach in Hawaii ranks fourth on the global list of the top 25 beaches.
Two Greek beaches are also among the top 25 beaches in the world. Falassarna Beach in Crete (19th place) and Myrtos in Kefalonia (23rd place).
The list is derived from the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings from Tripadvisor travelers for beaches worldwide, collected from October 2022 to September 2023.
