Odds place Cyprus eighth for tonight’s Eurovision semi-final

The first semi-final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Malmo, Sweden, tonight. Fifteen countries, including Cyprus, will compete for ten spots in Saturday’s grand final.

Cyprus’ Silia Kapsis will perform first with the song “Liar.” Viewers in Cyprus can watch live on CyBC at 10 p.m. local time.

Betting odds suggest Croatia and Ukraine are the strongest contenders to win tonight’s semi-final. Lithuania, Ireland, Finland, Luxembourg, and Portugal are also considered likely qualifiers. Cyprus is predicted to place eighth, with Poland and Serbia rounding out the top ten.
