Relevant News

The Cyprus Police, specifically the Drug Enforcement Service (YKAN), arrested two suspects yesterday in the Limassol province in connection with an investigated drug trafficking case.

The two suspects, aged 48 and 30, were arrested on the spot after a search of the car they were travelling in revealed a quantity of cannabis weighing approximately five (5) kilograms and 300 grams.

Specifically, just before 4:00 pm on Thursday, YKAN members stopped the car with the two suspects, driven by the 30-year-old.

A search of the vehicle followed, where six nylon packages containing cannabis were found behind the driver’s seat, inside a cardboard box, with a total weight of approximately five kilograms and 300 grams.

The 48-year-old and 30-year-old were arrested on the spot for drug offenses, as well as under arrest warrants subsequently issued.

Both were placed in custody for further investigation into the drug trafficking case.

YKAN (Limassol District Drug Enforcement Unit) is investigating the case.
