The explosion of a bomb in the early hours at a well-known summer club in the Pernera area in Protaras points towards conflicts surrounding the underworld in the Famaguta area.
The bombing has put the Police on high alert, believing that the perpetrators wanted to send a message.
It is noted that until recently, the management of the well-known club belonged to individuals from Nicosia.
Investigations are focusing in a specific direction, and testimonies from closed-circuit surveillance systems are being sought in an attempt to locate the movements of the perpetrators.
The bomb explosion occurred just before 2 in the morning.
Extensive damage was caused to the property which was closed.
The scene was cordoned off by the Police, and members of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police Headquarters rushed to the scene to conduct investigations.
Investigators from the Famagusta CID are also seeking testimonies from local residents.
