Many people gathered in Pegeia on Sunday afternoon for the big carnival parade that took place on the central avenue of the municipality.
An astronaut was the Carnival King in an attempt by the organizers to prove that Pegeia, their region, is now in another dimension. The role was played by the Mayor of Pegeia, Marinos Lambrou, who stole the show in his white uniform.
The King Carnival’s chariot was accompanied by impressive cheerleaders and chariots inspired by politics, everyday life, and cinema.
According to the Mayor of Peyia, Marinos Lambrou, the parade was attended by about three thousand carnivalists and 27 groups and chariots. Our goal, Lamprou said, is to entertain young and old during these carnival days, so that we can all escape from the problems of everyday life.
