Despite continuous arrests and dismantling of networks, there are ongoing efforts by some to travel from Paphos Airport to European destinations, primarily France, using fake or stolen documents.

In recent days, police officers at Paphos Airport have made new arrests of individuals of African origin regarding investigated cases of forgery, circulation of fake documents, and identity fraud.

These individuals intended to depart from the airport on flights to European countries such as France, Italy, or Malta.

However, during passport control, it was found that their documents were not valid.

In the most recent cases, two individuals at different times presented passports from European states, which they eventually admitted were either counterfeit or stolen.

Authorities estimate that in the majority of these cases, the origin of these individuals is the occupied areas where the industry of manufacturing and trafficking fake documents seems to thrive.
