Limassol Police arrest teenagers during Lambraja checks

Limassol Police conducted widespread checks as part of an operation to prevent disruptive behaviour associated with the ‘Lambraja’ (Easter bonfire) custom.

The operation targeted various churches across the city and district. At the church of Saint Barnabas in Zakaki, officers arrested three teenagers aged 14. They were transported to the Agios Ioannis Police Station for processing.

Similarly, ten individuals were found at the church of Saint Nicholas in Kato Polemidia and taken into custody at the Polemidia Police Station.

According to police reports, all youths were charged in writing with their parents and lawyers present and subsequently released.
