Around 9 am, the investigative committee of the Holy Synod is expected to convene to examine the scandal involving the Monastery of Saint Habakkuk in Fterikoudi.
According to sources, today the two acting archimandrites of the monastery will be summoned to testify, facing allegations of sexual and financial misconduct, which they themselves dismiss as fabricated.
However, as part of the investigation, beyond videos, photographs, and audio material, at least one of the monks is also facing allegations of sexual harassment.
This particular allegation is being investigated by the Police, as it falls under criminal offenses.
The two monks also face charges related to the financial management of the monastery and will be called upon to explain the safe deposit box found at the monastery.
In addition to the two monks, witnesses for both prosecution and defense will be summoned to testify.
Bishop of Tamasos Isaiah has already testified and “condemned” the two monks.
